Mr. Joseph Ade-Coker, the former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has made a passionate appeal to the party's leadership to uphold integrity and unity in the recruitment of party faithful for the 2024 general elections.
Speaking on The Citizen’s Show hosted by Kwabena Bobie Ansah on Accra 100.5 FM, Mr Ade-Coker emphasized the importance of avoiding petty grudges and internal conflicts as the party prepares for the upcoming elections.
He stressed that the NDC cannot afford to "play Charles Kele," a Ga term meaning to waste time or sabotage others, during this critical period.
“This is not the time for grudges and payback,” Mr Ade-Coker warned, urging the party to bring everyone on board and prevent the impression that victory is already assured.
He highlighted the need for collective effort, warning against divisive attitudes such as refusing to work with certain individuals based on personal dislikes.
Mr Ade-Coker called for an inclusive approach, stressing that this is not the time for selective allocation of positions without merit.
He pointed out that winning the election requires deploying the NDC's election machinery effectively, with everyone's participation.
He underscored the necessity of concerted effort, stating, “Winning this election is a clarion call.”
He also noted that the NDC faces formidable opponents in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which he described as having "diabolic elements."
Mr Ade-Coker praised former President John Dramani Mahama, highlighting his resilience and the NDC’s need to capitalize on the perceived incompetence of the current NPP administration. He concluded by emphasizing that the NDC's path to victory lies in unity and strategic deployment of their resources and personnel.
