Mahama urges supporters to join NDC's nationwide protest against EC
John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is calling on the party’s supporters to participate in a nationwide demonstration against the Electoral Commission (EC) slated for September 17, 2024.
Addressing rallies in Jinijini and Adamso in the Bono Region, Mr Mahama urged NDC supporters across the country to respond to the call of the party's National Chairman and join regional protests to demand that the EC addresses their concerns.
Mr Mahama accused the Electoral Commission of adopting a stance that indicates an unwillingness to address issues raised by the NDC regarding the 2024 voters' register.
In light of this, he urged all NDC supporters, as well as Ghanaians who value peace and transparency, to join the demonstrations.
According to Mahama, the protests will target every EC district office across the country to apply pressure on the commission to take action and ensure a fair and transparent electoral process.
