Mahama’s call to reset Ghana apt - MP
The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Member of Parliament for Tain Constituency in the Bono Region, Mr Adama Sulemana, has endorsed former President John Mahama’s commitment to "reset" the country if he wins the upcoming December 7, 2024, elections.
Mr Sulemana criticised the current administration, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, stating that the country is "sitting on a time bomb."
At a media engagement on Sunday, July 7, 2024, Mr Mahama pledged to reset the country if elected, citing the deterioration of state institutions, looting of state lands, and infiltration of security agencies by party affiliates.
He emphasised the need to restore hope for the youth, who he said are living in despair.
Mr Adama Sulemana echoed Mr Mahama’s sentiments during an appearance on the Citizen Show hosted by Kwabena Bobie Ansah on Accra 100.5 FM on Monday, July 8, 2024.
Mr Sulemana asserted that all democratic institutions under the current administration have failed to meet the expectations of Ghanaians because they are no more independent.
He stressed that the agenda to reset the country is essential and non-negotiable for bringing hope to the people.
Mr Sulemana also commended the media for their performance during Mr Mahama’s engagement, praising their genuine and probing questions.
"I was encouraged by the kind of questions that were asked by the media during the encounter," he remarked.
