Mahama pledges comprehensive audit of public funds and recovery of ‘looted’ cash if NDC wins

The Flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has announced plans for a future NDC government to audit spending from various public funds, including those used for the All African Games and the losses incurred by the Power Distribution Services (PDS).
Mr. Mahama emphasised that these audits will be conducted without political bias to ensure accountability for all suspected misappropriations or looted cash.
Speaking to journalists in Sunyani, the Bono Regional capital, Mr. Mahama declared that the NDC, if elected, would implement an "Operation Recover All Loots" initiative aimed at returning all monies stolen from national coffers.
According to Mr. Mahama, this exercise will not be about targeting the NPP alone. Any member of the NDC who is found culpable will also face the same scrutiny.
He stressed that the audits would be non-partisan and focused solely on ensuring that public funds are properly accounted for.
