Mahama launches 2024 bid Thursday
Former President John Mahama has announced that he would be launching his presidential bid on Thursday, 2 March 2023, in the Volta Region, the main opposition National Democratic Congress's stronghold.
"Fellow countrymen and women, I will on Thursday, March 02, 2023, launch my bid to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the 2024 elections at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Sokode near Ho", Mr Mahama posted on Facebook.
"I invite you to either join me in the Cedi Auditorium at UHAS or watch a livestream of the launch on my Facebook page or YouTube channel from 9.00am".
The announcement came with a poster with the inscription: 'The Ghana we want'.
Mr Mahama is among four flag bearer contestants of the NDC.
The others include former Finance Minister Dr Kwabena Duffuor, former Kumasi mayor Kojo Bonsu and one businessman.
They have all picked forms for the race in May this year.
