MNOs failing to meet quality standards will face fines – Sam George
The Minister nominee for Communications, Digitalisation and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has warned that Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) that fail to meet the required quality standards will face financial penalties.
Speaking during his vetting by the Appointments Committee on Thursday, January 30, Mr George emphasised his commitment to ensuring that telecommunications companies provide reliable and efficient services to Ghanaians.
He stressed that while the government would support MNOs in improving their infrastructure, there would be consequences for substandard service delivery.
"I will not be a minister who’ll be afraid to impose a fine when MNOs fail to provide the quality of services required, as well as we support them in doing so," he stated.
He reaffirmed his determination to hold service providers accountable while fostering an environment that promotes technological advancement and innovation in the country’s digital sector.
