Krobo NDC Bloc thanks Mahama for Rita Awatey’s inclusion in gov’t

The Krobo Bloc of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern Region has expressed profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for nominating Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey as the Eastern Regional Minister.

In a statement dated January 14, 2024, and jointly signed by John Atteh Martey (Lower Manya Krobo Constituency Chairman), Eric Kteku Odzeyem (Yilo Krobo Constituency Chairman), and Moro Yakubu (Upper Manya Krobo Constituency Chairman), the Bloc described the nomination as a testament to the NDC’s commitment to empowering capable leaders and fostering development in the region.

"The appointment of Mrs. Awatey is welcome news to us," the statement read.

"We are confident that her expertise and experience will greatly benefit the region.

Her leadership will help drive growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance the overall well-being of our people."

The Krobo Bloc further commended President Mahama for his dedication to progress and inclusivity, emphasizing that the nomination reflects the NDC’s commitment to ensuring balanced representation and development.

The Bloc also extended appreciation to Vice-President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang for her role in advancing initiatives that promote equity and inclusion, reaffirming their support for the government’s efforts to build a stronger and more prosperous Eastern Region.
