John and Jane best pair for Ghana’s dev’t – Ofosu Ampofo

Former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has endorsed the John Mahama and Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang ticket as the ideal pair to steer Ghana out of its current economic challenges.
Speaking to NDC supporters in the Tema East Constituency of the Greater Accra Region during the campaign tour of the party’s running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo expressed confidence that this ticket offers the best hope for Ghana's future.
He praised Prof. Opoku-Agyemang as a trailblazing academic, noting her historic achievement as the first female Vice Chancellor of a public university in Ghana.
He also highlighted her accomplishments as Minister of Education, where she introduced technical universities and initiated progressively free education at the Senior High School level.
"That is why our incoming President, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, chose her as his running mate.”
“This ticket is the best to secure the future of this country and to provide relief in the perilous economic environment we find ourselves in," Dr. Ofosu Ampofo stated.
He also criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for misleading Ghanaians in 2016 with promises that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, touted as an economic expert, would solve the nation's financial problems.
He pointed out that under Dr. Bawumia's watch, Ghana has seen the highest Cedi-to-Dollar exchange rate in its history and witnessed the collapse of businesses, including banks.
Dr. Ofosu Ampofo argued that Dr. Bawumia has nothing new to offer Ghanaians and called on voters to reject him in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
He emphasised that the future of Ghana is brighter under the leadership of John Mahama and Jane Opoku-Agyemang, who have the experience and capability to manage the country's affairs.
He urged voters to cast their ballots overwhelmingly for the NDC’s presidential ticket.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, in her remarks, reiterated the NDC's readiness to implement policies such as the 24-Hour Economy, the National Apprenticeship Program, the Women Development Bank, and the Big Push initiative, all aimed at easing the economic hardship Ghanaians are facing.
She encouraged all registered voters to participate in the ongoing voter exhibition exercise and to vote massively for John Dramani Mahama and NDC parliamentary candidates in the general elections on December 7, 2024
