Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed deep sorrow following the death of Robert Kutin Jnr, the Central Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a Facebook post, Dr Bawumia paid tribute to Chairman Kutin, recognising his significant contributions to the party's growth.

"It is with shock that I received the news of the passing of Chairman Robert Kutin Jnr, the Central Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Chairman Kutin contributed his quota to the growth of NPP," Dr Bawumia wrote.

The Vice President extended his condolences to the bereaved family and the NPP, saying: "I express my condolences to his immediate family and the NPP. Rest in peace, Chairman."

Chairman Kutin was reportedly pronounced dead on Sunday, 22 December 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m. in Accra.

He had been battling an undisclosed illness for the past seven months, which kept him away from active involvement in the 2024 election campaign.

Isaac Mensah, popularly known as Mr Blankon, the Central Regional Communications Officer for the NPP, confirmed the news in an interview, describing it as a significant loss to the party.
