The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has nominated George Opare Addo, also known as Pablo, as the country's first Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment. 

This nomination is a fulfilment of the President's promise to empower the youth of Ghana by creating a Ministry that will focus on youth development.

This appointment has been hailed as a huge victory for the youth of Ghana

As the National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo has been instrumental in mobilizing the youth wing of the party, which played a huge role in the NDC's victory in the 2024 general elections.

Under his leadership, the youth wing toured all 16 regions of Ghana, canvassing for votes and promoting the party's manifesto.
