Dec polls: Reject vote-buying - Opoku-Agyemang to voters

Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on the electorate to reject any vote-buying inducements from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on election day.
She warned that such inducements bring only short-term benefits and contribute to long-term hardships, depriving citizens of meaningful development and a better quality of life.
Addressing a community durbar in Budumbram in the Gomoa East Constituency on Monday, August 5, 2024, as part of her three-day campaign tour of the Central Region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasized that state resources should be used to create jobs for the youth rather than being hoarded for vote-buying purposes, as she accused the NPP of planning to do.
"The money they will bring cannot sustain you for a day.
Such money cannot build your polyclinic, construct your road, or fix the deplorable school buildings that threaten the life of your wards.
The 200 or 500 Ghana Cedis cannot fix them," she said.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stressed that good governance involves implementing proper policies that provide a better life for all Ghanaians, as the NDC has promised to do with initiatives such as the 24-hour Economy, the Women’s Development Bank, and the Big Push policy for massive infrastructure development across the country.
She urged voters to support the NDC Flagbearer, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, in the upcoming December 7, general elections, as well as the Gomoa East Parliamentary Candidate, Mr . Desmond De-Graft Paitoo, to bring development to the area
