Dec. 7 polls: Kwabena Boateng targets 90% vote share for NPP in Ejisu

Kwabena Boateng, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency, has set a target of securing 90 per cent of the votes for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
Speaking at the constituency campaign launch, Mr. Boateng expressed strong confidence in achieving this goal, given the unity and support from the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Mr. Boateng’s declaration follows a challenging period for the NPP in the constituency.
During a recent by-election, the party experienced a setback when former Member of Parliament, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi resigned to run as an independent candidate.
This move contributed to a decrease in the party’s vote share and voter apathy, resulting in a low turnout of just 49 per cent among registered voters.
Despite these challenges, Mr. Boateng is optimistic about the party’s prospects. He noted that Mr. Aduomi and his supporters have since rejoined the NPP, and efforts are underway to boost voter turnout for the general elections. “
Adding to the campaign's momentum, Kwesi Nyantakyi, the former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and a past parliamentary candidate aspirant, voiced his optimism about the party breaking the eight and securing a third term in office.
