Consider my work and offer me another term – MP to NDC delegates

Politics
Mr Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor,

The Member of Parliament (MP) for South Dayi Constituency in the Volta Region, Mr Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, is appealing to delegates within his constituency to consider his works and offer him another term.

According to him, this will give him the chance to continue to represent the Constituency in Parliament to carry on with his good works.

The South Dayi lawmaker made this appeal in an exclusive interview with Class 91.3 FM's Kaffui Richard Dikah Dzemeni in the Volta Region.

He said there is a need for the delegates to reward his exploits since assuming the reins as an MP.

The MP worried that the 35km road from Asikuma to Dzemeni which was started by the previous administration in 2016 had been abandoned by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

He said all efforts to bring back the contractor to the site have proven futile.

Mr Defeamekpor disclosed that with collaborative efforts with the District Assembly, some of the feeder roads had been made motorable.

He stressed the need for the government to speed up work on the disbursement of the GetFund money to complete more projects within the Constituency.

The Paramount Queen Mother of the Dzemeni Traditional Area, Mama Elo IV, for her part called on the government to ensure the payment of compensation to the surviving victims of the Volta River overflow in 1965 at Dzemeni.

According to her, during the unfortunate incident, properties and people were displaced by the dam overflow, some of which could not be located until now.

The queen mother said the memories of the unfortunate past were still fresh in their minds coupled with the failed 100 houses promise by the Volta River Authority (VRA).

Mama Elo IV also disclosed that Dzemeni, being a major trading centre, draws traders from across the country generating massive revenue yet the area is bedeviled with bad roads
