Cheddar names Maryam Issaka Kriese as running mate for Dec. 7 polls
Independent presidential candidate and leader of the New Force, Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, has officially named Dr. Maryam Issaka Kriese as his running mate for the upcoming December 7 general election.
The announcement was made at a press conference in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, where Mr. Bediako lauded Dr. Kriese’s vast financial expertise and leadership capabilities, describing her as the ideal partner to help drive Ghana toward economic prosperity.
Highlighting her impressive credentials, the New Force leader said: “As Senior Manager at the Securities & Exchange Commission, Ghana, she helped shape the nation’s financial landscape through strategic oversight of investments, licencing of capital market operators, and the development of critical regulations. Her role in training market operators and educating investors places her at the forefront of financial empowerment.”
Dr. Kriese, a respected academic with a PhD in Finance, an MBA, and advanced certifications in Islamic Finance and ERP software, has taught at the University of Ghana Business School and the University of Professional Studies, Accra.
A well-known advocate for women’s rights and a practicing Muslim, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in financial governance, positioning her as a pivotal figure in reshaping the nation’s economy.
With growing dissatisfaction over the current political climate, the Bediako-Kriese ticket is emerging as a viable alternative for voters seeking new leadership beyond the two main political parties.
“Whether it's reshaping policies, advancing financial education, or contributing to groundbreaking research, she stands as an indomitable force driving both Ghana and Africa toward financial inclusion and economic resilience,” the New Force leader stated.
