Bawumia pledges sea defence, mini harbour for Sege to combat tidal waves
Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has promised to build a sea defence system and a mini harbour for the people of Sege if elected as the next President of Ghana.
This commitment, he says, aims to mitigate the effects of the devastating tidal waves that have battered Sege and its surrounding communities for years while fostering economic growth by modernising the local fishing industry.
Addressing a gathering of chiefs, traditional leaders, and residents during his tour of the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Bawumia underscored the urgent need for development in Sege.
He pointed out the town's strategic position as a fishing hub and stressed that critical infrastructure is essential to protect the livelihoods of its people and unlock economic potential.
“We need a mini harbour, so we are going to work on bringing a mini harbour to Sege here for you, and that is a very important thing. And then, of course, very important, we need to do the sea defence for this area.” Dr. Bawumia stated.
He further assured the people of Sege that if he is elected, his administration would work to deliver on these promises.
“If I come back in four years, I will have to give an account of what I have done with the sea defence,” Dr. Bawumia added.
