All politicians are not the same – Mahama pledges honest leadership if elected president

Former President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has called on Ghanaians to recognise the differences between political parties, stressing that not all politicians share the same values of integrity and truthfulness.
Addressing the chiefs and people of Kojokperi in the Daffiama Bussie Issa (DBI) Constituency during his campaign tour in the Upper West Region, Mr. Mahama rejected the notion that all political parties and politicians are the same. He emphasised that some prioritide honesty, while others do not.
“A lot of people are disappointed in the NPP, and they are going around saying politicians are the same. I beg to differ. All the parties are not the same, all politicians are not the same,” Mr. Mahama asserted.
He reassured voters of his commitment to restoring public confidence in Ghana’s leadership by leading with honesty and accountability.
The NDC flagbearer further criticised certain politicians for making empty promises just to gain power. “Some will come and tell you what you want to hear just because they want political power. It is not like that,” he added, urging Ghanaians to see through these tactics and support leaders who truly value the nation’s progress.
Kuoro Musah Nadi Kibei III, Paramount Chief of the Kojokperi Traditional Area, welcomed Mr. Mahama’s visit, acknowledging his deep understanding of Ghana’s diverse cultures and traditions.
He also appealed for development in the area, particularly the completion of key infrastructure projects.
“Your presence here is proof of your deeper understanding of the diverse cultures and traditions that make up our great nation,” Kuoro Musah Nadi Kibei III noted.
He appealed to the former president to prioritise the completion of the Kojokperi-Wahabu road should he return to power.
“If by the grace of Almighty Allah you form the next government by January 7, 2025, we humbly request you to, among other things, complete the Kojokperi-Wahabu road,” the chief urged.
