Akufo-Addo appoints Herbert Krapa as Minister of State for Energy Ministry

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has requested Parliament's prior approval for the appointment of Herbert Krapa as Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy.
This request is detailed in a letter addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.
“I am writing to seek parliamentary approval for the appointment of Herbert Krapa as Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy, in accordance with Article 78 of the Constitution,” the letter states.
The letter explains that it has been customary for the Ministry of Energy to be staffed by a substantive Minister and three deputy ministers.
Due to the exceptionally heavy workload at the Ministry, it has become necessary to appoint a Minister of State.
Herbert Krapa, currently a deputy minister, has been nominated for this role.
Prior to this appointment, Herbert Krapa served as the deputy minister of energy and the board chair of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG)
