Afenyo-Markin commends Mahama Ayariga’s diplomacy as Majority Leader

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has praised the diplomatic skills of Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga, describing them as being at an all-time best.
Afenyo-Markin acknowledged Ayariga’s role in fostering dialogue and consensus-building in Parliament.
His comments come in the wake of the Minority’s initial decision to withhold approval for Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Minister-designate for Lands and Natural Resources.
The opposition had raised concerns regarding the nomination process, leading to tensions within the chamber.
However, Ayariga’s intervention played a crucial role in de-escalating the situation.
Commending Ayariga’s approach, Afenyo-Markin highlighted his ability to engage in constructive discussions that led to a resolution.
“Ayariga’s diplomacy is at an all-time best.
He engaged in some useful discussions that led to the apology,” he stated, indicating that the Majority Leader’s efforts were instrumental in fostering parliamentary cooperation.
His remarks suggest a growing sense of mutual respect between the leadership of both sides of the House.
As Parliament continues its vetting and approval process, Ayariga’s diplomatic leadership is expected to be key in ensuring smooth deliberations between the Majority and Minority caucuses.
He spoke in an interview with Channel One TV on Wednesday, January 29.
