Bel-Aqua Foundation, CMG sign pact to promote mental health
The Bel-Aqua Foundation has entered into a partnership with Class Media Group (CMG) to promote mental well-being across all CMG platforms nationwide.
The Bel-Aqua Foundation serves as the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Bel Beverages Company Limited, while CMG operates several media outlets, including Class FM, CTV, Accra FM, Dagbon FM, Taadi FM, Sunyani FM, Ho FM, Number 1 FM, Adeshyie FM, and Kumasi FM.
During the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in Accra, which formalized the partnership, Chris Addo-Sarkodie, the Marketing Manager of Bel-Aqua, highlighted the importance of the collaboration.
He stated, "At Bel-Aqua, we recognize the vital link between hydration and mental health. Our commitment goes beyond providing high-quality premium water; we are dedicated to supporting initiatives that enhance mental well-being."
As part of the partnership, a programme titled ‘Take a Break’ has been developed to air on Accra 100.5 FM and Class 91.3 FM.
The show will educate listeners on managing stress and pressure.
Mr Addo-Sarkodie emphasized that poor pressure management has become a significant issue in Ghana, contributing to rising mental health problems.
Reports indicate that one in three people in Ghana suffer from mental health issues, underscoring the need for increased education on managing depression and related conditions.
He acknowledged the growing pressures faced by many, leading to tragic outcomes such as suicides among even the wealthy in the country.
Through the ‘Take a Break’ programme, the Bel-Aqua Foundation will sponsor doctors to provide on-air guidance on managing stress and pressure.
"We understand that the task is challenging, but as an organization committed to promoting the health needs of our customers, we are dedicated to this cause," Addo-Sarkodie added.
