'Women can be good bearers of God's word and light' – Lordina Mahama
As Special Guest at the 2024 Ministers Wives Conference of the Assemblies of God Church, former First Lady Lordina Mahama said she found this year's theme, 'Seasoned to Send the Light,' to be "not just fitting but deeply personal and significant for all of us".
In her speech, Mrs Mahama discussed the Biblical story of the Samaritan woman at the well, emphasising how her encounter with Jesus transformed her into a messenger of God's word.
"This is a powerful reminder that we, as women, can be good bearers of God's word and send light into the world," the former First Lady wrote on Facebook.
She also highlighted the significance of women being the first to receive and share the news of Jesus' resurrection, "demonstrating God's trust in women to spread His message".
Mrs Mahama said: "Women have the power to be messengers of God's word and to spread His light."
She noted that the conference provided "a valuable platform for us to come together, learn, and equip ourselves with the skills and knowledge needed to fulfil this important mission".
"I loved the conversations and reflections at the conference, and I hope we can all take the lessons learned to continue to shine the light in our communities and beyond," she added.
