V/R: Kpenoe residents rejoice as Enterprise Insurance commissions borehole to combat waterborne diseases
Residents of Kpenoe in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region are celebrating the commissioning of a mechanical borehole by Enterprise Insurance, bringing a long-awaited solution to their water crisis.
For years, the community has struggled with a lack of clean drinking water, leading to health challenges, including waterborne diseases like guinea worm.
The initiative, launched as part of Enterprise Insurance’s 100th-anniversary celebrations, aims to provide a lasting solution for the community.
Mr Mark Addison, Marketing Manager of Enterprise Insurance, emphasised the company's commitment to supporting communities across Ghana by ensuring access to potable water.
"When we visited this town, it became clear that providing a mechanical borehole was necessary," Mr Addison stated.
He added: "We are committed to ensuring every Ghanaian has access to clean water."
Togbe Kotoku XI, paramount chief of Kpenoe, expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, lamenting the challenges residents, particularly women, faced in fetching water.
He praised Enterprise Insurance for their humanitarian effort, which, he said, had transformed the community.
Local leaders, including the Assemblyman, Joshua Eli Buatsi, called for the borehole’s maintenance and urged the government to address other needs, such as improving roads and expanding schools in the area.
