Planned EPA staff demo temporarily called off
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Division of PSWU-TUC has announced the temporary suspension of the planned staff demonstration scheduled for today, Friday, 3 May 2024, across its regional offices.
In a statement, the EPA Division of PSWU-TUC cited the decision as a means to allow for further engagements with key stakeholders, including the EPA Management and Governing Board, Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), Ministry of Works and Housing, and Ministry of Interior.
This is geared towards facilitating constructive dialogue on the concerns and grievances raised by staff of the agency.
The EPA PSWU-TUC emphasised their firm expectation that stakeholders involved in the matter will work diligently and collaboratively to achieve a win-win conclusion.
They reiterated the collective responsibility to ensure the well-being and conducive working environment for all public institutions, particularly the Environmental Protection Agency, mandated to protect the environment.
