NIA extends Ghana card registration in 3 regions up north
The National Identification Authority (NIA) has extended the registration period for the National ID card for the Northern, Savanna and North East regions.
Persons from the three regions have up to Wednesday, 30 October 2019, to register.
The NIA, in a statement, said: “Permanent NIA offices will be established at the regional, municipal and district levels by March 2020 to afford all Ghanaians who were not registered during the mass registration exercise the opportunity to get registered and be issued with the Ghana Card for free.”
The registration for the card will continue across all the 16 regions of the country until it ends in the Central Region in 2020.
The Ghana Card, according to the NIA, is proof of identity, citizenship and residence of the holder.
