NABCO trainees petition Peace Council over unpaid allawa, threaten Jubilee House demo before Dec. 7 Polls

The Coalition of NABCO Trainees has called on the National Peace Council to urgently intervene in the ongoing crisis over unpaid allowance arrears, which has affected trainees since 2021.
Representing thousands of disheartened trainees, the coalition expressed frustration over the prolonged delay in payments and warned of a mass protest if their concerns are not addressed.
In a petition addressed to the Peace Council, co-signed by David Peterson, a key organiser of the trainees, representatives Nana Tachie Eric, Deborah Enam Sogbey, and Nana Berimah Asamoah, the trainees announced plans for a large-scale demonstration at the Jubilee House.
According to the trainees, this would be held a week before the upcoming elections if their grievances continue to be ignored.
The coalition outlined the impact of unpaid allowances on their livelihoods, urging the Peace Council to engage with the government to expedite payment and prevent potential unrest.
They stressed that despite multiple petitions to the President's office and relevant ministries, no resolution has been reached.
They believe the Peace Council’s involvement could help prevent disruptions during the election period and ensure a peaceful resolution to the issue.
