Mole National Park applauds rangers on World Ranger Day 2024
West Africa's largest National Park, Mole National Park in the Savannah Region of Ghana joined the world in celebrating the 2024 edition of the World Ranger Day, on Wednesday, 31 July.
The day is set aside to commemorate Rangers killed or injured in the line of duty and to celebrate the work Rangers do to protect the planet’s natural treasures and cultural heritage.
As part of activities that marked the day, some of the courageous men and women who safeguard the Mole National Park were honoured by the management of the park.
The manager of the Mole National Park, Chief Mahama Ali reminded the gathering that the World Ranger Day is celebrated worldwide and appealed for everybody to take the opportunity of the day to educate the masses about the importance of wildlife conservation since it is becoming a serious problem in the country.
He praised the government for passing the wildlife law which will help in the protection of wildlife in Ghana. He said it is high time everyone reflected on their responsibilities towards nature reaffirming it towards future generations.
He added that the management of the park is proud of its dedicated ranger team and their unwavering commitment and bravery every day.
“Let's unite in support of these remarkable men and women and express our gratitude for their tireless efforts in protecting our wildlife, communities and habitats,” he stated.
Municipal Chief Executive for West Gonja District Assembly, Musah Kusubari Karim, praised the management and staff of the Mole National Park for their dedicated service to the park by protecting the wildlife for future generations.
