Missing T’di girls: Police completes DNA tests
DNA tests on some human remains retrieved by the Ghana Police Service from a septic tank near the residence of the main suspect in the case of the three missing Takoradi girls, Sam Udoetuk Wills, were concluded on Monday, 16 September 2019.
According to Class91.3FM sources, the results are expected to be handed over to the families of the missing girls soon.
The three missing Takoradi girls include 18-year-old Ruth Love Quayeson, last seen on 4 December 2018; 21-year-old Priscilla Blessing Bentum, last seen on 17 August 2018; and 18-year-old Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, last seen on 21 December 2018.
The families of the three missing Takoradi girls called for an independent DNA test following the retrieval of skeletons from a septic tank behind the house of the prime suspect.
The tests will ascertain whether or not the remains found are those of the three girls who have been missing since August and December 2018.
A team of investigators from the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service found the remains when they went on an operation at Kansaworodo, a superb of Takoradi.
The spokesperson for the families, Mr Michael Hayford Acquah, said the news had thrown the Sekondi-Takoradi municipality, especially Kansaworodo, into a state of shock.
“Until forensic and DNA investigations establish that the body parts found to be that of theirs, all we know is that our loved ones are still alive”, he told the Daily Graphic.”
