Mallam-Gbawe Muslim community holds Eid prayers on newly constructed astroturf

The Muslim community of Mallam-Gbawe in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, located in the Greater Accra Region, has expressed gratitude to New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate Jerry Ahmed Shiab and the Municipality Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Mr Michael Dankwa for the construction of the multi-purpose astroturf.
Their appreciation was extended during a gathering held to mark Eid prayers, with a call for unity and collaboration between the two communities to foster development.
The occasion was marked by the inauguration of an astroturf, constructed by the Coastal Development Agency as part of the One-Constituency One-Astroturf policy initiated by the NPP to provide essential facilities for community engagement.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Shiab emphasised the importance of unity and harmony between the Mallam and Gbawe communities for the progress of the area.
He expressed his joy at witnessing both Muslim communities come together for Eid celebrations following the fasting season.
He pledged his commitment to fostering unity between the communities for the mutual benefit of all residents.
Additionally, he announced his intention to register a piece of land for the construction of an Arabic school to serve both communities.
Mr Shiab highlighted the strength that unity brings and assured the communities of continued infrastructure development under the leadership of the ruling NPP, led by Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, if elected in the 2024 general elections.
He also promised an open-door policy to address the concerns of residents if he emerged victorious in the parliamentary elections.
In his remarks, Mr. Michael Dankwa, the MCE for the area, echoed Mr. Shiab's sentiments and pledged to collaborate with community leaders to ensure the construction of the Arabic school for the benefit of both communities.
He appealed to residents to maintain harmony and peaceful coexistence to facilitate the growth and development of the community.
