Hundreds of children feted at JerryFest in Weija-Gbawe
Hundreds of children from the Weija-Gbawe Constituency were treated to a fun-filled event on Saturday, August 31, at the newly constructed astroturf at the Gbawe Cluster of Schools.
The event, dubbed "JerryFest," was organized by Mr. Jerry Ahmed Shaib through his JAS Foundation, the humanitarian arm of the governing New Patriotic Party's Parliamentary Candidate for Weija-Gbawe.
The celebration featured a variety of activities for the children, including face painting, bouncy castles, and a dancing competition, among others.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ahmed Shaib, who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Coastal Development Authority (CODA), emphasized the importance of bringing people together to foster a sense of community.
"The purpose of this gathering is to come together, to know each other better, to know the parents and the children, and to create opportunities for networking," he stated.
He encouraged parents who attended the event with their children to use the opportunity to network and build new connections, emphasizing that some teachers were also present to interact with parents and students.
Mr. Ahmed Shaib also reminded the children to prioritize their studies so they could benefit from the government's flagship Free SHS program. He promised that next year's event would be even bigger and better.
