The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has unveiled the nominees for the 28th GJA Media Awards, set to take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

In a ceremony held at the Ghana International Press Centre on Wednesday evening, GJA President Albert Kwabena Dwumfour announced 28 individual journalists and four media organisations/programmes as nominees, recognizing their outstanding contributions to journalism in Ghana.

Honouring Excellence in Journalism

Dwumfour praised the selected nominees for their exceptional journalistic work, which has made a significant impact and deserves celebration.

A nine-member committee, led by Mr. George-Ramsey Benamba of the Ghana News Agency, reviewed over 300 entries to select nominees based on merit, accuracy, and impact. Dwumfour thanked the committee for its hard work and commitment to ensuring a fair, transparent, and impartial selection process.

“They have indeed worked tirelessly to select deserving nominees in a fair, transparent, and impartial manner,” Dwumfour noted.

This year’s event will feature 36 award categories, highlighting the best in Ghanaian journalism.
