GBC bungalows being demolished at Weija

The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) has accused Sylvester Tetteh, Member of Parliament for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro Constituency in the Greater Accra Region and Deputy Information Minister, of unlawfully demolishing its staff bungalows situated on GBC-owned land in Weija.

According to a statement from the state broadcaster, the MP allegedly proceeded with the demolition despite GBC's objections.

The Ghana Police Service reportedly intervened promptly, halting the exercise.

“The Management of GBC, with the help of the Ghana Police Service, this afternoon stopped the Deputy Minister of Information and MP for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, from continuing the illegal demolition of government buildings on GBC land at Weija”

As of now, Sylvester Tetteh has not publicly responded to the allegations concerning his involvement in the incident.
