Floods hit Accra again
Certain areas in the capital, Accra, have begun experiencing floods.
This comes on the back of hours of rainfall on Wednesday, 15 June 2022.
Affected areas include Accra Central, Osu, Trade Fair, Kaneshie First Light.
Most drains in the affected areas were unable to contain the flood waters leading to flooding.
This has led to traffic on some roads in the capital as well.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMA) had earlier announced that a thunder storm will hit parts of Accra today, Wednesday, 15 June 2022.
According to the GMA the storm will also hit other parts of the country.
The storm was expected to hit parts of Accra in the morning.
A statement from the GMA said: “Southern Ghana will remain cloudy with the possibility of rain and thunder within the morning and afternoon hours. Parts of northern Ghana will as well experience some thunderstorms later in the day.”
The GMA also disclosed that the storm had already begun in certain parts and thus cautioned residents to take precaution.
