Firefighters douse fire at Police headquarters, prevent it from spreading

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), has successfully doused the fire that gutted one of the structures at the Police National Headquarters in Accra.
According to the GNFS, “the first responding Crew from Fire Service National Headquarters arrived at 0923 hours at the fire scene to tactically confine the fire to the room of origin.
“The fierce fire was brought under control at 0958 hours and finally knocked out at 1037 hours without recording any casualty except partial fire damage to the walls, glass windows and some other contents of the affected space,” the GNFS said in a Facebook post.
The GNFS however indicated the “cause of the fire remains under investigation.”
Meanwhile the Ghana Police Service has expressed its appreciation to the firefighters and its officers who assisted to “ensure that the Fire did not spread to the entire building.”
The incident occurred on Thursday, 9 February 2023.
