Court of Appeal dismisses Adu Gyamfi’s appeal against Ablakwa; imposes GH¢3,000 costs

Reverend Kusi Boateng, also known as Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, has suffered another defeat at the Court of Appeal in his attempt to secure a contempt ruling against North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The court ruled that the impugned grounds of appeal did not comply with its rules.
Consequently, the grounds were deemed incompetent, inadmissible, and were struck out.
"The application was against the rules of the Court of Appeal that says the Appalent must clearly state where the judge erred,” the presiding judge said.
Having failed on two previous occasions, this is the third attempt by Reverend Kusi Boateng, also known as Adu Gyamfi, to restrain MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Rev. Kusi Boateng, a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral project, suffered a second defeat in July last year when the Human Rights Court dismissed a similar application in May.
His lawyers have furnished the court with additional grounds, hoping to turn the tide in their favour in a legal battle that has garnered significant media attention.
Thaddeus Sory, leading the legal team for Mr Ablakwa was present in court but Rev. Kusi Boateng was absent.
He was represented by his legal team led by Bobby Banson.
