CLOGSAG announces nationwide strike over new salary structure
The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has announced a nationwide strike starting Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
The Association expressed frustration over the government's failure to implement the new salary structure approved by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, despite a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) being reached one and a half years ago.
Speaking to the media, CLOGSAG's Executive Secretary, Dr Isaac Bampoe Addo, urged all members to comply with the strike directive until their demands are met.
“Following our indication of intent to proceed with a nationwide strike if the new salary structure for Civil Service and Local Government staff is not implemented, we now declare a nationwide strike effective Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
“All staff of the Civil service and Local Government Service are to stay away from work until further notice. Similarly, all CLOGSAG secretarial offices must be closed.
Kindly take note and comply accordingly,” he stated.
