Become integral part of corruption fight – OSP to Ghanaians
On the occasion of Ghana’s 66th Independence Day Anniversary celebration which took place on Monday, 6 March 2023, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) urged every Ghanaian to become an integral part of fighting corruption.
According to the OSP, corruption continues to undermine Ghana’s democracy, development and independence.
The OSP is, therefore, asking for the support of Ghanaians to fight graft.
“When you suspect corruption, say something to us. Together, we will make corruption a costly venture in Ghana,” the office said in an Independence Day message.
The OSP was established in 2018 as the gold standard and flagship specialised independent anti-corruption institution in Ghana, in pursuant of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.
The OSP has the objective of investigating and prosecuting specific cases of alleged or suspected corruption and corruption-related offences in the public and private sectors, recovering the proceeds of such acts by disgorging illicit and unexplained wealth and taking steps to prevent corruption.
