Alan Kyerematen unveils ‘Greater Accra regeneration initiative’ to transform region by 2030
The Presidential Candidate of the Movement for Change, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has announced a sweeping 15-point plan aimed at transforming Greater Accra into one of Africa's top five best-structured cities by 2030.
Dubbed the “Greater Accra Regeneration Initiative” (GARI), Mr. Kyerematen's proposal outlines a comprehensive vision to tackle urban challenges and enhance city infrastructure.
Speaking to the press during his Greater Accra caravan tour, Mr. Kyerematen detailed his plans to overhaul transportation, improve waste disposal, manage traffic, and decongest the Central Business District.
He expressed confidence that this ambitious project would make Accra “a well-organised and livable city for its residents.”
“It’s a 15-point agenda of the Redevelopment of the Greater Accra Region, and I have strategically branded it as the GARI project to make Accra one of the top five cities in Africa by the year 2030,” Mr. Kyerematen said.
According to Mr. Kyerematen, the GARI Project aligns with the broader Great Transformational Plan (GTP) of the Movement for Change.
“The implementation of the GARI Project will involve a review and alignment of all ongoing government projects, including donor-funded projects, aimed at the redevelopment of the city of Accra,” he explained.
