Ablakwa to lead demo against sale of SSNIT Hotels to Bryan Acheampong
Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has formally notified the Ghana Police Service of his intention to lead a demonstration on June 18, 2024, against the sale of SSNIT’s hotels to Bryan Acheampong, Ghana’s Minister for Food and Agriculture.
This notification is in accordance with the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491).
Mr. Ablakwa stated that the demonstration has become crucial due to recently intercepted documents indicating that SSNIT is proceeding with the transaction despite his complaint to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate the matter.
The demonstration is set to commence in front of the Labadi Beach Hotel, proceed through La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, and conclude at the Jubilee House, where the demonstrators will present a petition to President Nana Akufo-Addo.
