A/R: Police launch manhunt for suspect after triple shooting in Barniekrom
The Ghana Police Service has initiated a manhunt and investigation into the tragic shooting of three individuals by suspect Osman Majeed at Barniekrom, near Mankranso in the Ashanti Region.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, 2 July, 2024, was reported to the police, with the suspect alleging that the victims were part of a group that had come to attack him.
Upon receiving the distress call, a police team swiftly arrived at the scene, discovering the lifeless bodies of the three victims.
The bodies have been transported to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
In the course of their investigation, police retrieved critical evidence from the scene, including one motorbike, eight spent cartridges, and four cutlasses.
A statement issued by the Police revealed the suspect is “currently at large”, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend him.
The Police therefore called for calm in the community as they work diligently to bring the suspect to justice.
“We wish to urge members of the community to remain calm as investigation into the incident continues to get the perpetrator arrested to face justice,” the police statement read.
