A/R: Floods kill boy, 6

The body of the six-year-old boy, Augustine Antwi, who was washed away by torrential floods at Kokoso, a suburb of Bantama in the Kumasi metropolis while returning home from school, was found on Thursday, 19 September 2019.
The little boy slipped into an uncovered drain on Wednesday, 18 September 2019 and was instantly dragged away by the strong currents.
A search was mounted by the National Disaster Management Organisation for him.
Before the body was found on Thursday, the Assemblyman for the Kokoso Electoral area, Mr Francis Amoako, told Adehye FM’s Elisha Adarkwah that: “Since yesterday [Wednesday] we’ve been looking [and] searching everywhere to see if we can find the boy, whether alive or dead … I’ve gathered all the boys in the community searching around the corners and the banks of the river.”
