We'll revive school farms to address feeding challenges in SHSs - Mahama
Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has pledged to revive the concept of school farms, with the produce directly used to feed students.
This initiative is part of the NDC’s manifesto, launched on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in Winneba, Central Region.
The idea behind school farms was initially introduced to tackle the food supply challenges faced by many Ghanaian secondary schools, starting in the Northern part of the country.
However, issues such as land acquisition and maintaining the involvement of students and teachers posed significant challenges.
With ongoing complaints about the poor quality of meals in senior high schools, the NDC, under Mahama's leadership, aims to reintroduce school farms as a solution to ensure consistent and improved feeding for students if elected in the December 7 polls.
