TTAG threatens nationwide protest over unresolved CETAG strike
Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) has threatened a nationwide protest if the strike by the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) is not resolved.
The strike, which began on June 14, 2024, is due to the government's delay in implementing an arbitral award and negotiated service conditions.
Despite a National Labour Commission order to end the strike, CETAG remains firm in its demands.
The strike has halted academic and administrative activities, jeopardizing the academic calendar.
TTAG in a statement has urged the government to meet CETAG's demands, citing the strike's negative impacts on students, including security threats and financial burdens.
TTAG has called on its members to prepare for a protest if the situation remains unresolved.
