Police interdicts officer for allegedly assaulting a member of the public

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted a Police officer, № 49187 General Corporal Wise Bessey, stationed at the Takoradi District Police Command, for an alleged assault on a member of the public in Takoradi in the Western Region.
The interdiction is to allow for a thorough investigation into the incident and the professional conduct of the Police officer in line with Police Service Regulations.
The victim has been contacted by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and, the IGP has assured him of the needed Police assistance and a thorough investigation into the incident.
The police in a statement has assured the general public that the Police will continue to ensure that professionalism is maintained at all times in the discharge of their mandate.
