C/R: Father arrested for alleged money ritual murder of 3-week-old baby at Fetteh Kakraba
A 21-year-old man, identified as Bright, has been apprehended by the Awutu Bereku District Police Command for the suspected murder of a three-week-old baby.
The man who is in fact the father of the baby is alleged to have used the baby for money ritual.
The incident transpired on the night of Monday, 22 January 2023, when Bright visited the baby and the mother.
During his visit, he allegedly took advantage of an opportunity when the child's mother left the sleeping baby unattended to inside their residence to run an errand.
According to an account provided by Bright's friend, the child's mother asked him to bring the baby from the room.
Unbeknownst to the friend, Bright may have had ulterior motives.
“I met Bright on the school park with the baby, and a few minutes later, the mother called that he was missing,” the friend recounted.
Upon receiving the distressing news, a search party was immediately organised to locate the missing baby.
Bright's friend was subsequently apprehended after a tip-off suggested his involvement in taking the baby out of the room. The accomplice, under pressure from the search party, led them to the school park.
However, by the time they arrived, Bright had already committed the alleged murder.
The Awutu Bereku District Police Command is currently investigating the incident, while the father of the baby is in police cutody.
