President John Dramani Mahama has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of the Volta Region, describing them as the pillars of his political journey and defenders of Ghana's democratic progress.
Addressing a gathering in the Volta region during his Thank You Tour on Friday, January 24, 2025, President Mahama commended the region for its unwavering loyalty and support throughout his political career.
“The Volta Region has always been a cornerstone of our great nation. In times of triumph and adversity, you have stood firm in the rain and sunshine, not only as pillars of my political journey but as defenders of Ghana's democratic progress," he said.
He described the region as a symbol of hope, perseverance, and national pride, adding its citizens' loyalty and commitment will never go unnoticed.
“I will forever remain grateful to you, the citizens of the Volta Region of Ghana. Today, I am humbled and inspired by your continued trust in my leadership. Thank you from the deepest recesses of my heart,” he expressed.

He emphasised the institution of chieftaincy was not merely symbolic but an enduring pillar of wisdom and guidance in Ghana.
“Your wise counsel, rooted in centuries of tradition and community leadership, has fostered peace and stability during the last general elections. You have shown us the importance of dialogue, mutual respect, and nation-building,” he said.
President Mahama pledged his administration would prioritise collaboration with traditional authorities as essential partners in Ghana's development.
He again assured of his commitment to working closely with the Volta Region and its traditional authorities, promising to ensure their voices were integral to Ghana’s development agenda.
