NDC pledges to improve employment and working conditions for healthcare workers

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reiterated its commitment to tackling the pressing issues surrounding employment and working conditions in the healthcare sector.
Recognizing healthcare as a critical pillar of national well-being, the party has pledged to create more job opportunities, ensure fair wages, and foster a supportive environment for healthcare professionals.
During a visit to the Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Goaso, located in the Asunafo North Constituency, NDC Vice Presidential Candidate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, engaged with students and reaffirmed the party's dedication to addressing the challenges faced by healthcare workers.
She emphasized that the NDC has identified poor working conditions as a major factor leading to burnout and demotivation within the sector.
"The NDC understands the importance of our health sector and is committed to supporting it," Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stated.
She added that the party's plans include improving the physical and mental well-being of healthcare professionals through the modernization of healthcare facilities, ensuring that hospitals are adequately equipped, and addressing overcrowding in medical centres.
As part of the NDC’s broader healthcare policy, the party also intends to refurbish existing healthcare centres to create a safer and more efficient working environment.
This, according to Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, will ensure that healthcare workers can deliver quality services in a conducive environment.
She concluded by assuring the students that a vote for NDC Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama would be a vote for enhanced employment opportunities for healthcare workers and improved healthcare services across the country.
