Eid-ul-Fitr: Mon. Mar. 31, Tues. Apr. 1 declared public holidays

In recognition of the Eid-ul-Fitr Muslim festival, Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, are public holidays, the Ministry of the Interior has declared.
A March 22 statement signed by the Interior Minister, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, explained Eid-ul-Fitr, which falls on Sunday, March 30, was a statutory public holiday.
In keeping with existing protocols and in the interest of the general public, however, President John Mahama has issued an Executive Instrument (E.I.) under Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601) declaring the following Monday and Tuesday as additional holidays.
The extra public holiday is a fulfilment of President Mahama’s campaign promise, premised on recognising the contributions of the Muslim community to Ghana’s national development.
