Asantehene grants Samuel Sarpong permission to use Manhyia crest
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has granted permission to Dr Samuel Sarpong, the former Ashanti Regional Minister to use the Manhyia crest at all times.
The former Kumasi Mayor and Central Regional Minister during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regime was granted permission to use the Manhyia crest at all times to promote the Asante kingdom both at home and abroad.
Dr Sarpong took to 'The Citizen Show' hosted by Kwabena Bobie Ansah on Accra 100.5 FM on Thursday, February 23, 2023, to announce the honour done him by the Asantehene.
According to him, he is now permitted to wear the Manhyia crest on his left shoulder to promote the Asante kingdom.
He said since Otumfuo permitted him to wear the crest, he has been wearing it on his clothing to signify the authority of the Asante kingdom.
He explained he is now an ambassador for the Asante kingdom.
