Singer Maddy Maznaz has revealed the deeper reasons behind her notorious outburst against media personality and entertainment pundit Sally Mann.

She spoke to Prince Benjamin (PB) on Accra 100.5 FM's Entertainment Capital.

"That was like the second time. The first time we met, there was a bit of friction and tension," Maddy said.

"She was trying to disrespect my husband whiles I was [having an interview] – I haven't said this anywhere [before]. I went [for the interview] with my husband. While I was doing the interview, I think she was in there with my personal assistant talking," she explained.

After the interview, Maddy said she went to find out what had happened. 

"My husband was flushed," she observed. "I asked [Sally], 'What did you do? What just happened here?"

According to Maddy, her husband, a white man, later informed her while she was having the interview, Sally Mann was smearing her to him. 

She indicated though she did not make a big deal out of the incident at the time, she noted Sally as a troublemaker. 

She also recalled Sally "telling me she was also married to one German guy and eventually I saw she posted [on social media] she was a widow. So I asked myself, 'This girl, what kind of stories is she trying to fabricate for me. I didn't understand. 

"So when I met her for the second time, I said, 'This lady again'."

According to Maddy, she originally met Sally in 2023. The two encounters had been in the XYZ Broadcasting company building, she noted, also.

"This girl has really been on my case. I don't understand her whole [intention]," Maddy footnoted.

When Maddy Maznaz and Sally Mann clashed on a Power FM programme in 2024, it became popular news.

Sally, appearing on the radio show as a pundit, opined Maddy's Ooje Mi Aloo (Are You Insulting Me?) was a terrible song.

Not taking kindly to this critique, and given their original encounter, Maddy pushed back attacking Sally's credibility and questioning her competence and qualification for art appreciation. 

Making fists, Maddy told PB she confronted Sally to beat her up after the programme but Agyemang, the host of the radio programme, and others intervened. 

"I love confrontations and I hate bullies," she said.

"It's been like this since childhood. I was known for this in high school. I would beat up bullies for others. It's my personality. I mean, why would you do that to a human being, when they can't fight for themself? Since the person cannot fight for themself, I will fight for them. I don't need to know you [or the victim]. I'll just kill that bully spirit quickly."

She related an incident in high school where two prominent bullies feared by all the girls attacked her while she lay in bed.

"I beat them. Eventually, we were all admitted to hospital. They were suspended [from school] because they came to attack me. I was the only person they couldn't bully so it pained them," Maddy narrated.

A celebrity stylist who has worked with stars like KiDi and Kuami Eugene, she seemed flattered by Shatta Wale calling her the Yaa Asantewaa of the Ghana music industry, following how she handled Sally Mann who has made a name for what is often considered unwarranted attacks on entertainment figures including Shatta Wale and Nana Ama McBrown.

"I feel very honoured and loved by him. Shatta Wale is the only person who's come out to say, 'Big up'," Maddy remarked, noting she was particularly touched because she had no personal or professional relationship with the Reggae/Dancehall star.

"It shows me he's a king. He recognises real, he recognises talent. He's not playing about his craft. He knows what it is. That's why Beyonce chose him [for a collaboration]. I mean, it's obvious. " 

Maddy, however, bemoaned "the rest" had been quiet even though she knows them, had worked with them, and "helped project their brands," even.

Maddy Maznaz's Ooje Mi Aloo is on the Prestige album, curated by her record label Bentley Records, and featuring Hiphop legends like Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, The Game, and many others. The song performed in the Ga language of Ghana represents the work of the only African artiste on the project.
