Singer-songwriter and rapper Obofour has argued fellow Hiplife artiste Skrewfaze is indeed a legend as the latter recently stated.

In a social media video, Skrewfaze indicated his attention had been drawn to Stonebwoy's new hit Jejereje with fans asking for a remix including him. The fans noted the song's make was reminiscent of Skrewfaze's music from his heyday.

Skrewfaze, in a response, said a protocol had to be honoured if a remix would materialise because “I can’t just wake up and jump on the song just like that”.

“You have to know I’m also a big boy, I’m a legend,” he explained. “I, also, respect myself as an artiste and I expect same. If he or his team gives me a call, why not? If they don’t call, we just enjoy the vibe [song].”

The US-based music performer acknowledged: “The song is beautiful, this Jejereje. Big up Stonebwoy!”

A musician must “stretch,” going “the extra mile” and into “different areas” to explore their capabilities “apart from the norm,” the Ragga and Hiplife star added, lauding Reggae/Dancehall star Stonebwoy's versatility.

On social media, especially X, users challenged Skrewfaze's self-acclaimed legendary status, with some claiming he was only a one-hit wonder.

Writing on his Facebook, UK-based Ghanaian music executive and Hiplife connoisseur Obofour Raphael rebuked Skrewfaze's detractors, outlining Skrewfaze's legacy in Ghana music history.

“Those bashing Skrewfaze on X because he sees himself as a legend are naturally “idioticals” without apology. This is a gentleman who has done more than 400 features and loads of them became a hit. He took the featuring spot baton from Samini in 2004 courtesy of Castro’s Boneshaker. Let’s respect that gentleman’s hardwork. Allow! Apart from everything, he has manners [more] than most of your favourite artists,” the Ruffy Records CEO said.

Meanwhile, the latest from Obofour is a classic Hiplife number titled Efie Nipa, which bemoans and shames individuals who betray the trust of their kinsmen and loved ones. The song is the record producer and rapper's fourth single from his upcoming album.

“The album will be out before the elections,” he told Prince Benjamin (PB) of Class News.
