Mr Ibu: Nigerian movie star’s had '5 successful surgeries, is recovering' – Okafor family

Nigerian movie and comic star John Okafor, alias Mr Ibu, has so far “gone through five successful surgeries” and “is still recovering” in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), according to his family.
The refreshing news was broadcast via the verified @realMrIbu account on Instagram, Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
The IG statement acknowledge the “general public for their support, encouragement, and prayers,” and assured that as “soon as daddy is better, he will personally acknowledge all donations respectively”.
Apart from noting the bank account details for donations, and appealing for sustained “prayers and unwavering support,” the Okafor family indicated that John Okafor needed to stabilize “quickly” so as “to enable us fly him abroad for further advanced treatment”.
On October 18, a viral video showed John Okafor, in a hospital gown, in what appeared to be a hospital bed, appealing noted he had "been down for so many weeks," and appealed for “prayers and assistance”. He lamented that the “medical director” of the medical facility had informed him if "his new idea” fails, "the best idea" would be "to cut off my leg”.
The video sent shockwaves across the movie industry and on social media, an avalanche of concern was seen.
